The Crooks Dance Centre offers dance classes in the following styles:

  • Tiny Tots

    • A fun based introduction to dance for little ones from age 3. Jazz and Classical Ballet are incorporated in the class.

  • Jazz

    • At CCDC we teach modern jazz, commercial jazz and musical theatre jazz. It is important to expose students to all styles.

  • Tap

    • Tap dancing is done by making sounds and rhythms with your feet. Tap shoes must be worn. Tap is great for learning about music as well because of the variety of rhythms used.

  • Classical Ballet

    • A beautiful form of dance where strong technique is formed that can be carried into all other styles of dance. It is recommended that all students do at least one classical ballet class per week. Classical ballet helps a dancer understand their body better and so they can develop beautiful lines, flexibility and control.

  • Contemporary

    • Contemporary dance is based on technique learnt in Classical Ballet class, however it has a more modern style. At our dance centre, contemporary is only offered to those students at a certain level of classical ballet.

  • Hip-hop

    • A funky style of dance performed mostly to hip hop music. It is recommended, but not compulsory, that hip hop students also study jazz dance to help with their technique.

  • Acrobatics

    • A style of dance involving learning acrobatic tumbling as well as working on flexibility and strength. It is recommended that acrobats students also learn jazz to help with the dance element of acrobatics.

CCDC is affiliated with the COMDANCE ( formerly C.S.T.D.) and COMDANCE exams are offered. We also have an end of year concert which is a lovely family night out and a great way to end the year.
